Peter Crouch ‘forgot’ to buy Abbey Clancy presents and ‘went to the pub’ instead

Abbey Clancy says her hubby Peter Crouch “forgot” to buy her anything for Christmas last year – and went to the pub instead.

The former England striker appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Christmas wheel together and didn’t deny his wife’s claims, admitting that he left her all alone to do the cooking. Abbey fumed: “Last year everyone went the pub and left me on my own to do all the dinner and everything. It’s not every year but it was the year you didn’t get me any presents.”

In an episode airing on Christmas Day on BBC1, he said according to the Mirror: “It is true. I did that thing were you’re like ‘What do you want for Christmas, oh let’s not do presents this year’ but he took it literally!”

Peter replied: “Did I not get you anything? I don’t believe it!” It’s not the only time the pair have confessed to difficulties and “niggles” in their marriage. Abbey told New! Magazine: “Pete and I have been together for nearly 20 years, and it’s hard to keep the spark alive.

“The main thing is not to take each other for granted, and Pete surprised me with a trip to Thailand, which was such a thoughtful thing to do. The only thing was Pete didn’t realise it was monsoon season it rained non-stop! We were there for 48 hours and we didn’t leave our room.”

She added during a podcast appearance: “Like any couple, we have our niggles. You can slip into your roles of cooking and cleaning and you need to break that cycle. I’d love it if Peter was more domesticated but I’ve given up and he leaves me to do the cooking and cleaning.”

And during a cheeky exchange on their podcast The Therapy Couch, Abbey slammed Peter for “messaging other women”. He revealed a private message from a fan called Eileen on X, telling listeners: “I took a picture of it. An amazing quote from someone. I wrote it in my notes. I’ve got to give her a shout-out, right. Eileen Atkinson. She sent me a message on Twitter.”

Abbey immediately told him off, replying: “Sorry, so you’re telling me you’ve got chicks sliding in [to your DMs] and you’re reading them, number one, and number two, replying, giving them shout-outs?” Peter simply quipped: “Come on Eileen!” and Abbey burst out laughing – clearly seeing the funny side.

The quote read: “Marriage is like a deck of cards. In the beginning it’s all hearts and diamonds, and later on, all you want is a club or a spade.” Abbey fumed: “What prompted you to read that out, just now?” Peter claimed it was because Abbey wanted a second diamond ring – but Abbey told Eileen to “p*** off”.

Winding her up further, Peter joked: “Eileen is gorgeous!” as Abbey called her “presumptuous”.
