Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he was left “upset” in the run up to Christmas after a sad death on his Diddly Squat farm.
The former Top Gear frontman was left with some bad news in the days before Christmas when his partner Lisa Hogan’s horse died. However, it sounds like he had been expecting it.
The 63-year-old wrote in his column: “When Lisa’s horse died I was upset because I could see she was. And because I would have to deal with it.”

The horse, Bertie, had been found “lying on his side, in a stream”, Jeremy explained. However, that suggested to him that “something was probably wrong”.
He added in his column with The Times: “At least with all this unpleasantness out of the way we won’t have to face it tomorrow.” But it sounds like he was expecting more bad news.
Jeremy went on: “Which will free up some time for some other unpleasantness. A cow getting on to the road and being run over by someone on their way to the petrol station?
“A sheep mastering the art of self-combustion? A fox in the henhouse again? They’re all possibilities.”
Jeremy has been sharing his experience of running a farm on Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm. He bought 1,000 acres in Oxfordshire in 2008.
He named the farm Diddly Squat as it didn’t get off to a very productive start. However he has seen success over the past few years since the series.
And despite Jeremy stepping away from Amazon Prime show The Grand Tour, alongside co-stars Richard Hammond and James May, he’s not saying goodbye to television. It’s reported that a fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm is on the way.
