BBC star Zoe Ball struggled prior to her diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), admitting she would have “meltdowns” at work.
The popular Radio 2 presenter, 53, admitted that the condition often leaves her struggling with tasks that others might find straightforward. “My brain is just all over the goddamn shop,” she confessed to The Mirror.

“I am ADHD,” she explained. “My son [Woody] and I are both, we’re quite similar. I make myself laugh sometimes, because if I’m in a small space and I’ve got loads of tasks to do, I can cover so many miles. My family, they laugh because they’ll find things of mine in certain places and they’re like, ‘If you follow this, you’ll see what Mum was trying to achieve.'”
Zoe admitted she started to “melt down” on a particular task which “hurt her head”. The BBC star has been dealing with the same health battle as her son Woody, 23, who she shares with DJ Fatboy Slim.
He explained how much he struggled to write essays, adding: “I would literally cry that I can’t do it. My life was falling apart and the only time I was happy was when I was drunk.”
Other celebs like Denise Van Outen and Harry Potter’s Emma Watson also have the condition. Zoe now feels more carefree as she ages, saying about 2024: “I’m just hoping for more daft adventures. I’m in my 50s and I’m like, I’m having so much fun.”
