Katie Price issues ‘last show’ statement as Sleeping Beauty pantomime stint slammed

Katie Price has issued a brief statement to her fans ahead of her final panto performance of the festive season.

The former glamour model has been busy throughout December, starring as Wicked Fairy Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. Katie’s appearances have received mixed reviews during that time, however, with ticket prices slashed before Christmas amid reports she forgot several of her lines.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday (December 30), the mother-of-five signed off from her role, telling her followers: “Last day of panto today… I’ve enjoyed every minute and it’s been a wonderful way to end 2023.”

As well as fluffing her lines, it has also been reported that Katie missed certain steps in her on-stage dance routine.

Taking to social media, one audience member at a recent show hit out: “Maybe, just maybe Katie Price could learn the routines. She was an absolute disgrace. Clear to see how hard the other cast members have worked… very clear she thinks she can rock up making zero effort!!!”

Co-star Bippo the Clown, meanwhile, played by Gareth Ellis also made a cheeky swipe at her performance, joking that she had only rehearsed “two of her 25 lines”. But he later praised Katie’s eldest son, Harvey, who made a cameo appearance in one of their shows. “What a kind soul love having him around Katie is just amazing to watch with not just him but her whole clan,” he said on Instagram. “Great bunch and a great Christmas.”

Earlier that day, 21-year old Harvey had introduced himself to the audience, declaring: “Merry Christmas! Hip hip, hip hip.” And joining in the fun, the crowd were quick to respond lovingly, screaming, “hurray!”

Harvey then added: “Welcome to the pantomime ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. If you’re happy and you know it, my favourite,” as he went on to share his favourite part of the famous children’s song.
