Coronation Street fans could be set to see the downfall of two of the most beloved power couples on the cobbles this year, according to AI.
Loyal fans of the ITV soap have been glued to their screens this Christmas after bidding an emotional farewell to Peter Barlow following his breakdown after Stephen Reid’s death. Viewers will remember how the hunk mowed down the Canadian killer back in October just seconds before he made his escape bid.
Meanwhile, a heartbroken Carla is attempting to rebuild her life and her business without her partner in crime by her side. However, it didn’t take long before a new man waltzed into her life in the form of her nephew Bobby Donovan.

But it appears as though this isn’t the only heartache set to rock the street in 2024. As soap addicts prepare for an explosive New Year’s Day special, Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most intelligent ‘creative’ tools, Bard AI to see which couples will remain together in 2024.
It’s fair to say some residents will enter the new year not with a bang but a bust after the artificial program predicted two fan-favourite couples could go their separate ways over the next few months. It predicted: “Gemma and Chesney Winter-Brown are at a high risk of getting divorced in the new year.
“Their financial struggles and Paul’s illnesses are putting a lot of strain on their relationship. The stress of caring for a terminally ill loved one can take a toll on even the strongest relationships.
“Gemma may feel resentful towards Chesney if she feels like he is not pulling his weight in caring for Paul. Alternatively, Chesney may feel neglected if Gemma is focused solely on Paul’s care.
It went on: “Additionally, the couple may argue about how to best care for Paul, which could further strain their relationship. Gemma’s impulsiveness and Chesney’s growing maturity could also create a gap between them.”
Bard AI suggests that another couple at risk of separating in the new year is Nina Lucas and Asha Alahan. The couple, played by Tanisha Gorey and Mollie Gallagher, have been dating for the last two years.
And things seemed to be going well for them until the arrival of stunning newcommer Isla arrived on the cobbles. She was introduced to viewers as Asha’s work pal – with the pair currently training as paramedics.
It’s fair to say her arrival certainly stirred up trouble in their relationship. And now, the program has suggested that things will only get worse between them in the new year. It explained: “Cracks have been appearing in their once-solid relationship, with jealousy and differing aspirations causing friction.
“If they don’t find ways to compromise, things could turn sour.” It comes ahead of some steamy scenes set to play out between the couple in the new year – but surprisingly not with each other.
After another heated argument over the Asha’s new friend, her twin brother Aadi comforted a frustrated and heartbroken Nina in Victoria Gardens. Things took a bizarre turn when Aadi compliments Nina and they suddenly lean in for a kiss.
