Strictly bosses appeared to snub actress Amanda Abbington after she was not invited back to appear in the finale.
In normal Glitterball fashion, on the last evening when there is crowned winner, all contestants are usually invited to return for an entire cast reunion. It includes a dance that is normally performed by all who have been part of the series.
However, this year it didn’t go unnoticed – especially after feud rumours – that Sherlock star Amanda Abbington was missing from the line up. But adding further salt to the wounds, Nigel Harman who’d dropped out on medical grounds had been invited back for the last show.

Off the back of Nigel’s return – having pulled out of the contest two weeks ahead of the final due to an injury, the Sun reported that Amanda had been glanced over by BBC chiefs. With the actress seemingly feeling a bit glum about the ordeal.
A show source told the publication: “There was a lot of talk on set about Amanda’s notable absence from the finale. It seemed unfair that Nigel was invited back and she wasn’t.”
They went on to add: “I imagine she was upset by the snub as it would have been nice to have seen her return for one last dance, especially as she was so popular on the show and well-liked by viewers.”
Over on social media, Amanda alluded that she had been left “distraught” over her exit from the programme. Sharing a post from Strictly, seemed to sparked up the debate among fans.
One follower said: “I was truly distraught with her sudden departure from the show. To which Amanda replied with her own caption, responding with: “Thank you angel. So was I.”

At the time of Amanda’s exit from the show – due to an injury – rumours had swirled that she had not been getting on with her professional dancing co-star Giovanni Pernice. With the pair pipped to win at one point.
After Amanda had exited the show, a BBC spokesperson told the same publication: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
