Strictly Come Dancing pro Lauren Oakley ‘broke the internet’ as she stripped to a teeny bikini in a throwback video posted on New Year’s Eve.
The BBC star, who was partnered with Channel 4 broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy in the last series of the dancing competition, shared some of her 2023 highlights – which included emerging from the ocean in a soaking wet two-piece.
The floral set featured a plunging string bra and matching bottoms hitched high on her hips, secured with loose knots above each thigh. The tiny swimsuit left swathes of Lauren’s skin on display, including her washboard abs and slender thighs.

She added a pair of dark shades to shield her eyes from the sun in her halter-neck bikini, wearing her brunette tresses loose in her usual cropped style. Treading barefoot through the sand, Lauren looked incredible with the perfect blue ocean framed behind her.

She wrote alongside the snap on Instagram: “2023, you beauty. So grateful! Family, friends, loved ones, fans & all the people that make this wonderful life worth it. Love you all. Like a lot.”
Fans soon rushed to the comments section to heap praise on the star, with her Strictly co-stars Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez both showering her with loved-up emojis. Another fan penned: “Love you lots!”
“What a year for you!! So proud of you!! Will forever love supporting you! Here’s to 2024!!” somebody else penned. While a third social media user said: “What a year it’s been for you! So proud to support you through everything! Here’s to 2024 hope another incredible year for you! Happy new Year.”

Lauren only joined Strictly for the first time in 2022, and earned her first partner this year. She and Krishnan were the seventh pair to be eliminated from the competition despite wowing the audience.
In her personal life, Lauren is married to husband Maximiliano Omar Montes de Oca, with the pair tying the knot back in 2019. She’s been dancing since she was only two years old, born and raised in Birmingham.
It comes after Amanda Abbington was seemingly ‘snubbed’ from the BBC One final, missing from the line-up of the final group dance while Nigel Harman – who left the show on medical grounds – was invited back. One source told The Sun: “There was a lot of talk on set about Amanda’s notable absence from the finale. It seemed unfair that Nigel was invited back and she wasn’t.

“I imagine she was upset by the snub as it would have been nice to have seen her return for one last dance, especially as she was so popular on the show and well-liked by viewers.”
At the time, a BBC spokesperson said of her exit: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
