Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter after the channel made the announcement on Wednesday, January, 3rd , a eager fan excitedly wrote: “WOOT!!” followed with some symbols of skating boots and another posted: “Yayyy.”

This new batch of contestants, all hoping they have what it takes to win the impressive ice skating trophy includes Ricky Hatton MBE, Claire Sweeney, Hannah Spearritt, Amber Davies, Greg Rutherford MBE, Miles Nazaire, Lou Sanders, Ricky Norwood, Adele Roberts, Roxy Shahidi, Ryan Thomas and ski jumping legend Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards.

Contestant Hannah Spearritt has triggered fears for ITV bosses that she will not be able to perform on Dancing on Ice as she allegedly has missed “several” training sessions with professional skater Andy Buchanan. This 19th series will also see new professionals arrive as well as the return of some familiar faces, but viewers will also say bye to one skating favourite.

Matt Evers is confirmed to have departed from the show after fifteen series, having been part of the professional line-up since the very first show in 2006. Vanessa Bauer, Colin Grafton, Mark Hanretty, Brendyn Hatfield, Sylvain Longchambon, Tippy Packard, Andy Buchanan, Robin Johnstone, Amani Fancy, Vanessa James, Annette Dytrt and Simon Senecal will be hoping to help their celebrity partner skate to victory.

Karen Barber and Daniel Whiston will also return to the show as Head Coach and Creative Director while the Dancing on Ice judging panel will stay the same as 2023 with Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean returning.

Holly Willoughby is set to host the new series of ITV’s Dancing On Ice this month. After Holly, 42, left This Morning and Phillip Schofield was let go from ITV, there were rumours that she wouldn’t be back. But fans were thrilled when it was announced that Holly would return with Deal or No Deal star Stephen Mulhern joining as co-host.

Mulhern will replace Phillip Schofield, who left ITV earlier this year after he admitted having an affair with a younger male former colleague on This Morning. Holly and Stephen, 46, have known each other for nearly 20 years. They started their TV careers on children’s shows. From January 2004 to July 2006, they hosted CITV’s Ministry Of Mayhem.

ITV’s Katie Rawcliffe commented on Holly and Stephen teaming up for Dancing On Ice: “Holly and Stephen are two of our best-loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host Dancing On Ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show.”
