Emotions are running at an all-time high in ITV’s Emmerdale as Heath Hope’s body is finally laid to rest.
Next week, Bob is heartbroken as he tells Wendy that he’s refusing to see Cathy in order to protect her from himself. The following day, Brenda is livid when Bob continues to avoid his daughter Cathy.
Seeing them not interact, Brenda gives him both barrels, telling him he needs to step up and support her, despite his feelings. Clearly in torment, Bob mulls over Brenda’s words.

It’s soon the day of Heath’s funeral and Bob’s distraught to think Cathy could still be lying as he crumbles at the prospect of the day. Meanwhile, the funeral looms over the entire village, stirring up old memories.
Trying her best to make things as smooth as possible, Wendy attempts to console a distraught Bob but he decides that he can’t face today and refuses to attend the funeral. He tells Wendy he prefers to be alone with his grief.
Not long after, Pollard breaks the news to Cathy that Bob won’t be attending the funeral. Although she’s gutted, Cathy puts her feelings aside, determined to do right by her brother.

Despite Bob’s no-show, the whole village turns out to pay their respects to Heath, meanwhile, inside, Bob’s crippled by all-consuming grief. Cathy begins to buckle under the emotional weight of seeing Heath’s coffin in front of her in the hearse but is grateful to find a supportive Bob standing by her side when he finally shows up to pay his respects to his son who died way too soon.
But later, Cathy’s broken to realise that Bob still doesn’t believe her side of the story as he still thinks she’s responsible for Heath’s death. Cathy stands her ground, stating that she won’t move home if Bob can’t believe her.
As things become uncontrollable, Cathy’s friends support her as an emotional Bob exits, gutted to be back to square one with his daughter. Meanwhile, in the graveyard, Angel’s overwhelmed with guilt. Will she finally confess that she was driving the car the day Heath tragically passed away?
