Love Island All Stars cast’s fate out of their hands as first twist of series confirmed

Love Island has made a huge change to the highly anticipated All Stars series.

Normally, the Islanders’ fate is in their own hands as they choose who to couple up with on day one. But this time, a twist is in store for the show icons. Love Island: All Stars is giving viewers the power to pick which Islanders will couple up in the first episode.

Voting is open from 8am on Thursday (January 11) and free via the Love Island App. Fans can only vote once and have until 9pm on Friday evening (January 12) to have their say. All Stars has promised not to be your typical Love Island, with iconic feature Casa Amor already scrapped from the new series.

The notorious second villa has been a fan-favourite part of the show for years. It sees Islanders split from their couples and tempted by new singletons, often causing nail-biting drama when the cast are reunited.

The public will choose which Islanders couple up on day one

Earlier in the week, Daily Star and The Sun revealed that bosses decided to cut it from the legends version of the dating show. This is because producers want to keep past contestants in the dark about what’s in store for them.

Love Island executive producer Mike Spencer said: “We have got to be reactive. These islanders have done it all before so we have to be one step ahead of them. This give us the chance to shake it up and bring in new islanders in new ways.”

All Stars has promised not to be your typical Love Island, with iconic feature Casa Amor already scrapped from the new series.

Mike explained that Casa Amor wouldn’t effectively work for this year’s series as it’s only running for five weeks. He said: “That is good for an eight week run but you don’t need it for this. This is going to be more intense and people will fall for each other quicker.”

But fans shouldn’t worry as a new secret spot has been added into the villa. Mike teased: We have four hidden single beds in the lounge, so make of that what you will.” This week, the cast for Love Island: All Stars was confirmed. Fans will watch stars from the first series in 2015 interact with those from the most recent from last year.

The line-up includes former Playboy Bunny Hannah Elizabeth, who got engaged during her first stint on the show. Series 3 bombshell Georgia Harrison is returning for a second chance at finding love, keen to put her past with disgraced ex Stephen Bear behind her.

Series 10 star Mitch Taylor is making a huge comeback less than six months after leaving the villa. Also thrown into the mix is Chris Taylor, who appeared on the show in 2019 and went on to date Maura Higgins.

Love Island: All Stars launches on Monday 15th January at 9pm on ITV1, ITV2, ITVX & STV
