Julia Roberts, 56, slips curves into red leather and exposes her sex scene rules

Julia Roberts is looking gorgeous and classy in new snaps after she opened up about her choice to avoid filming nude scenes.

In the interview, Julia told British Vogue: “You know, not criticising others’ choices, but for me to not take my clothes off in a movie or be vulnerable in physical ways is a choice that I guess I make for myself.”

The Hollywood starlet also explained that filming Notting Hill was “one of the hardest things she’s ever had to do”. Her interview was conducted by the film’s writer Richard Curtis and Roberts was clearly unafraid to hold back.

She told him: “Honestly, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was your movie, playing a movie actress. I was so uncomfortable! I mean, we’ve talked about this so many times, but I almost didn’t take the part because it just seemed…oh, it just seemed so awkward. I didn’t even know how to play that person.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Julia asked whether she decided to take on roles based on whether they reflected her views on feminism. The star responded: “It would be more to the point that the things I choose not to do are representative of me, but in effect, I’m choosing not to do something as opposed to choosing to do something.”

Julia then joked that she’d had a G-rated career, in reference to the US film rating system where G means “general audience”. Roberts became a household name back in the early 1990s after she played the main character in Pretty Woman.

The protagonist, a lovable prostitute, had revealing scenes which Julia decided to use a body double for. She also starred 2009’s Duplicity and Roberts explicitly asked for a sex scene to be changed.

It was reported that Julia confessed at the time: “It’s not really what I do, so if you’re going to ask me to do it, you have to expect it to be toned down. You know, as a mum of three, I feel like that.”

Reports have also said that Julia admitted she “won’t do nudity in films” and “to act with her clothes on is a performance,” while acting without them would be “a documentary”.
