Kym Marsh has broken her social media silence as she shared a heartfelt tribute to her late father.
Her father David Marsh died at 78 after two years of prostate cancer had spread to his spine. Kym had previously shared updates on her father’s condition whilst working as a presenter for BBC’s Morning Live.
David had even been featured on the show during Men’s Health Week to advocate for prostate exams. At the time, the star’s father shared that he was facing treatment for an advanced form of cancer.

Kym broke her hiatus from social media to share the news of her beloved father’s passing with fans. The Hear’Say singer posted a picture of the father-daughter duo hugging and smiling.
She captioned the photo with a touching tribute: “For the first time in my life….I have no words. I love you dad.
“Always and forever. Rest easy Pops. Goodnight godbless”. The caption was rounded off with a series of red heart and broken heart emojis.
Heartbreak and love were reflected in Kym’s comments section, with many fans and famous faces rushing to support her and share their condolences. Corrie’s Charlie Condou penned a heartfelt message: “Oh Kym, I’m so so sorry.
“He was a truly wonderful man and the most fantastic Dad. You were blessed to have him. I’m sending you so much love darling xxx”
Comedian Paddy Guinness also sent his support, writing, “A lovely, lovely man. Sorry for your loss Kym. X” Eastenders star Jamie Lomas simply wrote: “RIP Dave. Sending you all lots of love”.
Fans of the 47-year-old actress also shared their support in the comments section. One user penned, “I know just how much your father was loved by you all… His Spirit lives on forever and surrounds you all with pure love.” Many sent on “love and light” for the grieving star.
David’s death was first announced on Friday 12th January, when a spokesperson for Kym shared the tragic news: “It is with immense sadness that we confirm the passing of David Marsh.
“A much loved husband, dad, grandad, great grandad and friend to many, David passed away peacefully at home yesterday surrounded by his family. We are truly heartbroken and ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
