BBC Breakfast fans woke up to a pleasant surprise when a fan favourite returned to the famous red sofa this morning.
On Monday morning (January 15), TV presenter Sally Nugent was nowhere to be seen on the latest episode of the beloved news programme. The 52-year-old presenter usually hosts the news programme between Monday and Wednesday alongside her co-star Jon Kay.
But on the first instalment of the week, the BBC show suffered a presenter shake-up when the mum-of-one was notably missing. Instead, her colleague Sarah Campbell, 50, stood in for her and presented the three-hour long show alongside the 54-year-old broadcaster.

Despite the disruption, the rest of the show went off without a hitch, with the presenting duo welcomed viewers back to the show where they discussed some of the biggest stories hitting the headlines. This included the ongoing volcano eruption in the heart of Iceland and the rise of pothole reports up and down the country.

While her TV colleagues covered the news show, the doting mum soaked up the sun in the last remaining hours of lavish holiday. Taking to Instagram, the TV star left her fans green with envy as she documented her January getaway snaps online.
Sally looked nothing short of sensational as she posed up a storm on a stunning wooden pier overlooking the ocean in the heart of the Maldives. She could be seen wearing a glamorous blue asymmetrical dress which hugged her hourglass frame.
The star accessorised her outfit with a gold bracelet which she accessorised with a matching gold choker as she beamed to the camera. Sally styled her chocolate locks into loose beachy waves which cascaded over her shoulders.
She finished the look with a full face of makeup which celebrated her youthful glow with a pinch of blush on the apples of her cheeks. Sally added a touch of bronzer on the high points of her face which complimented the wash of brown eyeshadow on her lid.
The broadcaster finished the look with lashings of black mascara and a swipe of nude pink lipstick on her signature pout. In another snap, the doting mum shared snaps of the stunning countryside with jaw-dropping coastal views.
Before she returns to the BBC studios, the star celebrated her well-earned getaway with her carousel of holiday snaps. She captioned the post: “Home from a dreamy holiday and excited to get back to work.
