The Masked Singer fans are positive they have cracked the Dippy Egg mystery, insisting he is TV presenter Dan Walker.
So far Shirley Ballas, Alexander Armstrong and Dionne Warwick have all been unmasked on the current series of the ITV show, which sees celebs singing inside huge, colourful costumes while judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora try and guess who they are. And viewers are now honing in on the identity of the person in the giant boiled egg outfit.
With clues like him having been on Strictly and the fact he “loves brekkie”, plenty of people are convinced they’ve rumbled it, and that it’s former BBC Breakfast star Dan beneath the mask.

Adding fuel to the fire are mentions of working night and day – something that could be said of Dan as a newsreader. Plus Dippy Egg apparently likes “birdsong”, which could be a nod to the fact Dan has been getting up early for years for morning TV.
Viewers are now certain they have worked it out, with many heading to X to share their theories about why Dan is the one. “I think Dippy Egg is Dan Walker,” a viewer said, explaining: “All the clues are there.”
“Clues defo add up to Dan Walker for Dippy Egg – I buy that,” said another. “Dippy Egg is Dan Walker,” insisted somebody else.
Other also pointed to the fact that Dan has a bit of a thing about eggs, and even launched an Egg Club for enthusiasts online. One person posted: “Forgot Dan Walker has an #EggClub thing on Twitter (now X). Is he Dippy Egg!?”
“He works on news and football programmes, was on Strictly and doesn’t he have an Egg Club?” said another fan. “Dippy Egg is Dan Walker… he runs Egg Club, agreed one viewer.
The only thing that has seemed to throw some people is mentions of Dippy Egg having something to do with animals. Before the Dan theory took hold, the clue had some viewers wondering if instead of Dan it could actually be Kelvin Fletcher under the mask.
The Emmerdale star is also a farmer and last year he and his family filmed the show Fletchers’ Family Farm together.
