Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid received quite the wake up call when her co-star Ed Balls accidentally kicked her on the head live on TV.
During Wednesday’s (January 17) visit to ITV studios, the brunette beauty and the 56-year-old broadcaster welcomed viewers back to the morning news programme. They discussed some of the biggest stories hitting the headlines including the gruelling winter storm that has wrecked the UK and the ongoing shortage of ADHD medication.
But the show quickly derailed when the presenting duo discussed plane etiquette as Brits jet off to sunnier climates to escape the January blues. One of the biggest faux-pas’ is passengers resting their feet on the headrest of the person in front of them.

To discuss the topic fully, Susanna and Ed headed over to some Good Morning Britain plane seats alongside Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce. During their discussion, Susanna sat alongside Kevin on the front two seats whilst Ed and Andrew sat behind them.
It didn’t take long before the former politician revealed the biggest reason why customers shouldn’t do this when he accidentally kicked the 53-year-old broadcaster in the head live on air. Susanna immediately recoiled and rocked forward as she held her head in pain.
Ed quickly covered his mouth at the shock whilst Susanna remarked she was in pain. He quickly jumped up to apologise and check she was okay. She mumbled: “I think we’ve decided it’s not ok, there we go.
“I don’t know if I can carry on with the programme. I’m seeing stars. That is our debate this morning, should you put your feet up on seats.
“You probably shouldn’t kick the person in front in the head” she warned. Luckily, the mum-of-three was able to laugh off the painful even later on in the show.
She reassured fans: “Honestly, [there was] no lasting damage although my eyesight did go blurry for about 20 minutes.” Ed couldn’t help but hold his head in shame as she shared her painful symptoms on air as she powered on with the show.
After watching the embarrassing moment on the show, viewers flooded to the social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their thoughts online. One user advised: “Give some danger money to Susanna” as another pointed out: “Wasn’t expecting to see Ed Balls kick Susanna in the head this morning #GMB.”
