Barbie beauty Margot Robbie reveals she had huge crush on iconic film character

Margot Robbie has revealed she once had a big crush on Lord Of The Rings’ iconic character Aragorn.

The Hollywood beauty explained how the bearded character caught her eye when she saw the trilogy. “Obviously there have been many many many over the years,” she told W magazine in a video interview with her Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling.

“But the one that comes to mind is Aragorn from Lord Of The Rings.” Ryan looked puzzled and asked Margot if she meant the character from the books by JRR Tolkien, who is actually 87 years old. But she clarified: “Viggo Mortensen, in Lord Of The Rings, as Aragorn.”

The interviewer could then be heard teasing Margot about not having had a crush on Ryan in one of his earlier roles. “Not Hercules?” they asked, referring to the actor’s 90s TV series Young Hercules.

“Not Young Hercules,” the actress giggled, as Ryan jokingly insisted: “I understand.” In a light-hearted bid to appease her co-star, Margot teased: “He was a close second!”

While it seems Ryan didn’t make it onto the list of Margot’s crushes, she did reveal that his film The Notebook has her reaching for the tissues every time she sees it. The pair were asked which film made them cry, and Margot said everyone would answer The Notebook.

Margot fancied Viggo Mortensen, who starred as Aragorn in Lord of the Rings

The 2004 weepie starring Ryan and Rachel McAdams has been a huge hit with film fans for close to 20 years. It tells the story of a young couple falling in love in the 1940s, which is read from a notebook in the present day by an old man in a nursing home.

“I would never not cry at The Notebook,” said the Barbie beauty. “It doesn’t matter how many times that I see it. I ball my eyes out. In fact, when I watch it, I stop half way before it gets to the sad stuff!”

However, Ryan – who starred opposite Margot as Ken in the Barbie movie – disagreed, saying that rather than his own film, he thought that 1980’s The Elephant Man was the saddest movie.
