Gladiators fans all say same thing about hosts Bradley Walsh and ‘out of depth’ son

Gladiators viewers have taken to social media to rant about the BBC hosts.

Bradley Walsh and his son Barney have been presenting the reboot – but many fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the duo again. On Saturday (27 January), the pair presented the show for another week, but fans weren’t sure on the coupling.

One said: “Bradley & Barney Walsh are the only negative on the #Gladiators reboot. Everything else is a joy to watch.” A second added: “#Gladiators I love Bradley Walsh but for me Barney isn’t working, he’s not a natural presenter, he looks out if his depth. I feel this is nepotism at its finest.”

However, one viewer defended the duo and supported them on X. One said: “This new series of #gladiators is pretty tidy. Don’t understand the hullabaloo about Bradley and Barney Walsh presenting. Doing a grand job imo.”

However, this isn’t the first time viewers were left unsatisfied with the pair as fans also shared their thoughts during previous episodes.

Last week, one penned: “Great to see #Gladiators back. Essential for Saturday evening viewing when I was younger. Not sure why Bradley Walsh and his son were selected to host though.” And another posted: “Question. Is there nobody available other than Bradley Walsh and son that can present shows.” While another added: “#Gladiators Bradley Walsh is great on The Chase but this seems a weird choice for him.”

However, there were some viewers who did back the father and son. One fan typed: “I just have to see Bradley and Barney Walsh and I’m happy.”

A second agreed: “Thoroughly enjoyed #Gladiators. Nothing not to like about it. Bradley and Barney are perfect presenters for it as well. Classic Saturday night television.”
