Taylor Swift searches banned after ‘disgusting’ explicit AI images circulate online

Taylor Swift has been the victim of explicit AI images shared of her online.

It’s not the first time deepfakes have run rampant after Artificial Intelligence brought out image creating software, but images have now been shared on the social media site, despite its rules. Pornographic AI images were widely shared online hitting over 27million views.

The images showed the pop star in sexually explicit positions and according to US media, the posts also received 260,000 likes in 19 hours before the account posting them was suspended.

If people now search Taylor’s name on X, a deadlink comes up with a message reading “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”

The posts went against X’s policy which stated: “You may not share synthetic, manipulated, or out-of-context media that may deceive or confuse people and lead to harm.” Fans of Taylor shared their outrage online in order to attract more attention to get it shut down.

Protect Taylor Swift started trending on X after the profile shared the images, with one account focused on “controlling AI” shared a post which read: “It’s great that Swifties have got the biggest pages spreading her deepfakes banned, but they should never have had to deal with this in the first place.

“We can protect Taylor Swift and *everyone else* from the threat of deepfake sexual imagery. We’re here to *ban* deepfakes.”

Another person wrote: “There should absolutely be a ban on using AI to create sexual content period.” The outrage also caught the attention of the White House, with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issuing a statement.

Jean-Pierre said: “The circulation of false images of Taylor Swift are alarming. We know that incidences like this disproportionately impact women and girls.

“POTUS is committed to ensuring we reduces the risk of fake AI images through executive action. The work to find real solutions will continue.”

Taylor hasn’t addressed the images herself online and has kept herself off socials since December 2023.
