Dancing on Ice star Greg Rutherford had to rush his son to A&E after a bloody accident.
The Olympian’s six year old son Rex suffered a nasty head injury and lost “a ton of blood” after colliding with a door. Greg, who is partnered with Vanessa James on the ITV show, shared photos of Rex’s gruesome injury on Instagram.
Alongside a photo of the large wound on the top of Rex’s head, Greg wrote: “Young Rexy took on the door frame and lost… a ton of blood and some tears later we’re in A and E hoping his new head mouth can be closed soon.”

He thanked the NHS for their help and said the frightening incident put things into perspective. Greg added: “One minute I’m stressing about a silly ice dance, the next mopping up blood and taking young Rexy to hospital. Perspective is key. PS he was SO brave.”
“The wonderful staff at Milton Keynes hospital glued his head back and we were on our way, Rexy hardly flinched. Love the NHS,” he concluded.”
The proud dad to Milo, 9, and Daphne, 2, recently suffered a scary injury of his own during his first day of Dancing on Ice training. The Olympic gold medalist shared how his competitive spirit led to an unfortunate accident on the ice.
Speaking to the Mirror and other press, he said: “Day one, it had to be bl**dy day one. We did the masterclass. We’re all hanging out together, having a really good time and doing all these little skills and pushing each other around, just having a good time.”
“We started to get probably a little bit overly excitable. Well I did, in particular, and decided that to try and win a race rather than skate, I’d just sprint on my on my toe picks.”

Greg continued: “Then, I got a little bit too quick for my legs and absolutely hit the deck like no tomorrow and, I’ll be totally honest, I thought I’d broken my hip. It was such a heavy impact and I think it’s going to be shown on the first show how big a hit it was and I had this massive egg form on my hip.”
“I showed one of the coaches I just sort of said, ‘Is that normal, is that like a normal ice burn, sort of reaction?’ and they were like, ‘No, no, I think you should go and get that looked at.'”
“Thankfully it recovered, but it was just a massive eye-opener straight away. But at the moment I did it, I was like, ‘That’s it, that’s my Dancing on Ice finished because it was the the amount of pain.”
