Love Island winner Kai Fagan confessed he was once “told off” by ITV bosses for causing a cheeky continuity blunder while living in the villa.
The beloved Mancunian, 25, found love on the reality show back in 2022 with his now-girlfriend Sanam Harrinanan, 24. The raven-haired beauty turned heads when the boys left for Casa Amor, leaving his then partner Olivia Hawkins seething at the main villa.
It didn’t take long before sparks flew between them, with the hunk eventually choosing to take her back to the main villa. Following his split from Olivia, the two love birds went from strength to strength, even winning the beloved reality show.

But he didn’t always play by the rules on the dating programme, and was even pulled aside by producers after causing trouble. Now, as the ex-teacher embarks on his latest campaign with Technicians: We Can Make the Difference, the reality star has lifted the lid on his rule-breaking on the show.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, he said: “I cut Ron’s hair once. Because obviously there’s no barbers in there and I was cutting my own hair quite a lot and they didn’t mind that because I feel like I kept on top of it.
“But Ron’s hair grew out a bit, so I cut it for him. But we got pulled up for it and they said it was for continuity. Because for one scene he’s gonna have longer hair but in the next scene he’s gonna have no hair and explained how it messes it up.
“So we got pulled in [to the producer’s room] for that because he kept telling us, ‘No, you’re not allowed to do it’ but we just thought, ‘Oh sack it, we’ll do it’.” The ex-teacher confessed that he also got pulled be executives up for talking about one of the banned topics in the villa.

He admitted: “I did get one pull up telling me I wasn’t supposed to talk about stuff but really I didn’t get in much trouble. I was quite well-behaved.”
It comes after the former educator teamed up with Technicians: We Make the Difference to shine a light on exciting but under-the-radar jobs that teachers may not know about. Speaking about the campaign, Kai gushed: “I loved working in a school and as a teacher, I wanted to open opportunities for teenagers and help with their development.
“Many young people might think they know what pathways they can take for their dream futures, but the research here clearly shows that we need to work harder to help them understand that university isn’t their only option and there are still many dream jobs they can uncover.”

“Becoming a technician is something you may not have thought of, and you realist you have the perfect skills for – there are interesting and exciting jobs in so many different sectors from agriculture to fashion, and special effects to making parts for space rockets!
