Megan Barton Hanson ‘shamed’ by old pals who discovered her teen stripping career

Megan Barton Hanson has opened up on being brutally “slut shamed” when she was in her teens, with the star explaining she’d “always been a sexual person” even back then.

The 29-year-old exclusively told Daily Star that she’d now sadly built up “resilience” to harmful comments and opinions of bullies because of facing up to them for virtually her whole life. When Megan was just a teenager, she suffered in silence and a felt “isolated” which is why she’s bravely speaking out to now to protect others.

Speaking candidly, the stunning model told us that long before she’d had any X-rated contracts in place, she’d been a target of vile insults – all because she’d struck up a career “stripping” along with posting “provocative images on Instagram”. Megan blamed the fact she’d come from a “small town” as one of the main reasons for neighbours and friendship groups bad-mouthing her.

Megan explained: “Growing up, I was slut-shamed from such a young age by men because it’s one rule for a man and another rule for a woman. So I just never want girls to experience or feel that isolation or loneliness that I felt when I was being bullied at school.”

The ITV star went on to reveal that she couldn’t talk to anyone about her suffering at the time because it wasn’t spoken about all those years ago and was embarrassing. Megan confessed: “It was such a taboo topic back then that I couldn’t even come back and tell my mum ‘oh I’m being slut-shamed at school’ because slut shaming was even a thing back then.”

The OnlyFans model, who is estimated to be raking in £800,000 per month, detailed how it all began, explaining: “I’ve always been a really open and sexually liberated person and even before I had a glamour model contract I was posting quite provocative pictures on Instagram so of course, I come from a small town and everyone had their opinions on that.

“Then I went into stripping, and again in small town I was naive. I thought ‘it’ll just be old men in the strip club, none of my school friends will find out’ but they found out within the first week.”

Wanting to now step up and be an advocate for others going through similar, Megan is waving the flag for women supporting women. She told Daily Star: ” I just want women to be more supportive in anything that people want to do whether that’s being more academic or something in the sex work industry.

“Whatever that is we need to really champion each other because men already do a good enough job of tearing us down and putting us in a box. I think we should just encourage each other.”

Megan, who appeared on Love Island Games, had been hotly rumoured to enter the villa in South Africa for the All Stars series, and didn’t exactly rule out that she could be taking part. Although given there’s only around 10 days left until it finishes it’s looking less likely.

When quizzed on whether or not she’d be taking part in the ITV dating show, the online model simply told us there “were no hot guys”. If someone did happen to catch her eye, she’d be straight on the phone to producers.
