Celebrity Big Brother just weeks away as start date ‘revealed’ for ITV show

Big Brother fans craving their fix of television’s original reality show reportedly have just a matter of weeks to wait for the celebrity edition to begin.

Celebrity Big Brother last aired in 2018 in its former Channel 5 home, but was scrapped by the broadcaster following poor ratings along with its ‘civilian’ counterpart. ITV reached a deal to air both shows last year, however, which resulted in a triumphant return in October – a series won by Scunthorpe lawyer, Jordan Sangha.

And after that show aired on ITV2, CBB has been handed a more prestigious slot on and will be broadcast every night on ITV1 and ITVX. Super TV, which boasts 30,000 followers revealed the news on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER NEWS – The launch will air on Monday the 4th of March – in exactly one month!”

Its statement continued: “There’ll be TWO 90 minute live eviction shows every week (one midweek and one on Friday’s as before) with the Live Final on FRIDAY 22nd March!”

The Celebrity Big Brother start date has been ‘revealed’ – and its very soon!

AJ Odudu and Will Best will remain on presenting duties, meanwhile, following their successful debut on regular Big Brother series last year. A source told the Sun of their appointments: “There was huge pressure on AJ and Will’s shoulders when they launched ITV’s reboot of Big Brother but they’ve absolutely risen to it.

“Both had experience but this felt like a really big job and there were whispers ITV might’ve been better choosing a pair of safe hands like Big Brother legends Davina McCall or Rylan Clark. Will especially hadn’t been on a proper prime-time production for a good few years, but it’s half way into the series and it’s already hard to imagine the show without them.”

ITV bosses are reportedly lining up an “outrageous” cast as they aim for a successful return for the show after a six-year absence. The wife of boxer Amir Khan, Faryal Makhdoom and Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith – the brother of the Princess’ mum Carole, are amongst the early names linked with appearing in the house.

Last week, it was reported that former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn is keen to be a part of the show. The soap siren played the role of Mandy Richardson in the Channel 4 soap on and off for 25 years. She was famously fired in 2021, however, after signing up for adult platform, OnlyFans.

According to a show insider though, the celebrity line-up remains far from complete. “Not all of the famous faces have even signed on the dotted line yet but the series is going full steam ahead and has already booked in studios to shoot the introductory videos that will play as each well-known housemate arrives,” a source told the Sun.

“The first ones are set to be filmed in just a couple of weeks in mid February, and they should all be shot by the end of the month, bar any late signings. Producers want this year’s stars to be really outrageous in their opening segments, so will be encouraging them to deliver their fighting talk and make dramatic promises that will hook viewers in.”
