BBC Breakfast aired an awkward spelling mistake during its latest episode.
BBC viewers were quick to spot the “terrible” blunder just minutes into a live report on Friday (February 9), when Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were hosting. The pair normally host the programme from Thursday until Saturday.
As always, both presenters introduced the latest headlines from across Britain and the world. They teased a report marking 80 years since the UK set up its first base in Antarctica.

But unfortunately, the graphics being shown on the screen, in front of thousands watching at home, had misspelt the continent’s name. Instead, it named the world’s coldest place “Arntarctica”.
Viewers were quick to complain about the mistake on X, formerly Twitter. One wrote: “Terrible that”.
Another said: “Arnt you spelling that wrong BBC Breakfast?”. A third sarcastically asked: “Arnt you spelling that wrong BBC Breakfast?”.
Naga, 48, recently returned to BBC Breakfast after weeks away from the sofa. It’s not known why she was unable to present the flagship show.
The likes of Nina Warhurst have stepped in to replace Naga on the show. Nina, 43, returned to screens after giving birth to her third child. She and husband Ed Fraser welcomed their daughter Nancy in July last year.
Returning to the show last month, she said: “Thank you very much it’s lovely to be back. I have missed the gang.
“I’m missing the baby this morning very much but yeah it’s lovely to be back. Best job in the world. And best baby in the world.”
She quipped: “I know everyone thinks their baby is the best one but sorry guys, mine actually is.” Nina, who announced her pregnancy on Mother’s Day last year, is also a mum to sons Digby and Michael with Ed.
