Dancing on Ice’s Ryan Thomas took an unfortunate tumble during his latest performance.
The actor and his pro partner Amani Fancy took to the ice on the ITV show for musicals week, but slipped over and then righted himself, before stumbling and falling again. After the routine the judges gave their scores and the pair ultimately landed 25 out of 40.
American figure skater Johnny Weir, who is standing in for Diversity troupe leader Ashley Banjo on the panel, told Ryan “never be embarrassed”, before saying he had to give him a low score.

Afterwards, host Holly Willoughby asked Ryan if he was okay and the actor admitted he was “embarrassed”. “I have not hurt myself,” he said. “I just hope my kids aren’t watching this… it’s very embarrassing for me!” he laughed.
Viewers were gutted for Ryan, commiserating in posts on X saying “Bless him” and “Poor Ryan”. But others were frustrated over the scoring after he received the same marks from some judges as Lou Sanders, who stayed up through her routine. Judge Oti Mabuse gave Ryan a score of 6.5, as did Jayne Torvill.
“How does the Corrie guy get the same marks as Lou when he fell over, not once but twice?!” said one person on X. Another baffled fan agreed: “So Ryan fell twice and was still scored the same as Lou by Oti and Jayne. Just goes to show that Lou is being undermarked week after week.”
“So Ryan fell over twice and got the same score as Lou who did a clean routine,” said another. One said: “So they gave Ryan 6.5 who fell TWICE, but gave Lou the same who didn’t?! Make it make sense.” “How can Ryan fall TWICE and some of them still give 6.5 like they gave to Lou?” demanded another irked viewer.
However, others praised Ryan for getting back up after hitting the ice. “Massive clap to Ryan for getting up twice and carrying on twice,” said one. “I love Guys and Dolls and he was doing so well owning the song but like Oti said ‘don’t be hard on yourself’. We know you can do it and still smashed the judge’s challenge twice.”
Another said: “My heart breaks for Ryan! Was an incredible skate until the falls. But as someone who used to skate, he got up and that’s what matters.”
Somebody else said the star was “ballsy”, adding: “So you fell a couple of times, but you picked yourself back up quickly and threw yourself back into it. I thought you were good. Keep going.”
