Married at First Sight star Georges Berthonneau has slammed his ex-wife Peggy Rose after he was seemingly “blindsided” by her announcing their split.
Taking to her social media platforms on Wednesday (February 14), Peggy revealed that she was less than loved-up with her partner Georges on Valentine’s Day. It was here when she announced that the pair were no longer an item and she was officially back on the market.
In the statement, Rose added that the split had left her “absolutely heartbroken”, with it also having “affected her mental health”. But it seems that despite Peggy’s statement on the break-up, Georges was stunned at the announcement himself and so took to his own platforms to give his side of the story.

Since then, Georges has hit out at his ex-wife for completely shocking him with the news that they were to end the relationship. He admitted that he “wasn’t expecting” to end things and that the split also had left him “heartbroken”.

But despite insisting he would be keeping quiet on the split, Georges launched a scathing attack on Peggy and all aspects of their marriage. This included their bedroom antics – or lack thereof, as Berthonneau revealed the pair had only had gotten raunchy a total of six times before ending things.
Speaking to MailOnline, Georges added that he was made to feel “insecure” throughout the entirety of the relationship: “I have never been able to express myself sexually with her,” he explained. “I have always felt like, if I do that, she might then stop or say she doesn’t like anything like that.”
Georges and Peggy met during the latest edition of the hit E4 dating show, and despite their ups and downs on the show, the pair seemed to be going in the right direction when the cameras stopped rolling. But now it seems that things have been poor behind closed doors, with Berthonneau claiming that he is “really tight for cash” due to his marriage.

He also slammed his former wife for refusing to pay for anything during the course of their relationship. He recently revealed that the couple’s trip to Paris for Peggy’s birthday had set the couple back £1,000 over just three days.
In response to his claims, Peggy’s representative said to the Mirror: “It is with deep regret that Peggy has learned of the unfortunate end to her relationship with Georges. She has devoted herself entirely to making it work with him, but Georges has made the decision to terminate the relationship.
“Georges reached out to Peggy on December 23, 2023, and January 30, conveying his intentions through text messages,” the representative continued. “Despite Peggy’s persistent request for a joint statement on Instagram for the past two weeks, Georges has not complied.”

The representative said that as a result, Peggy took it upon herself to release her own statement to Instagram. They added that Peggy would be doing everything she could to handle the situation amicably.
After Peggy’s statement was released, Georges gave his own statement. He wrote: “Wasn’t expecting a statement from Peggy regarding this situation.
“I’m heartbroken by our breakup and also trying to come to terms with life without Peggy. I appreciate a lot of you have questions but I won’t be talking about this situation as of yet. Also thank you for the messages of support.”
