AI reveals what Kurt Cobain might look like now after chilling mystery over death

Kurt Cobain was just 27 years old when he took his own life at his Seattle home on April 5, 1994.

Eerily, the grunge icon is just one in a long list of celebrities to have died at the age of 27. The music legend would have been turning 57 on February 20, had he not died so young.

But with advancements in technology, we have been able to see what he may look like now had he not died, thanks to AI. And apart from having a few more wrinkles, artificial intelligence bot Midjourney reckons he’d look pretty similar.

At the time of his death, a comment from Cobain’s mum Wendy sent conspiracists into a frenzy. Music journalist Lesley-Ann Jones revealed in a previous Netflix documentary: “His mother Wendy, when he died, gave an interview to a local paper.

“She said ‘He’s gone and joined that stupid club. I told him not to join that stupid club’.

“Which was taken to me as the 27 Club.” But, as Lesley went on to explain, the comment was more likely in reference to the Cobain family’s history.

“What she really meant was the uncles who had died by suicide,” she said. The suicidal tendencies that run through Cobain’s family dated back to 1979 when Burle Cobain, Cobain’s uncle, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his stomach.

A second of Cobain’s uncles also took his life five years later by a gunshot wound to the head. Despite being found with a suicide note, conspiracies continue to surround Cobain’s death, with many claiming he was actually murdered.

The completely speculative club remains a cultural phenomenon and one that is fuelled by conspiracists.

It surfaced once again when Amy Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning in 2011. Then, in 2016, Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin joined the conspiracy club when he was crushed to death by his car in 2016.

Other notable “members” include Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones and Elvis Presley’s grandson Benjamin Keough. And while the 27 Club is usually used to describe singers, other big names to die aged 27 include Big Brother icon Jade Goody and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Sahara Davenport.
