Fans of Dancing on Ice were left fuming at their TV sets as they questioned why Greg Rutherford was awarded a 10 if his performance wasn’t perfect.
The quarter final of the popular ITV show aired on Sunday night (February 25) with six remaining celebrities skating along to songs that they deemed to be their guilty pleasures. Former Olympic champ Greg took to the ice with his pro skater Vanessa James and danced to NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye.
Greg left viewers and the judges impressed and the couple achieved the first 10s of the series. But when judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and guest judge Johnny Weir gave their scores, fans were not pleased.

Both Oti and Johnny awarded Greg a 10 for his routine, while Jayne and Chris awarded nines, bringing their total score to 38 out 40. But despite scoring the athlete a 10, both Oti and Johhnny agreed that there were some errors.
Johnny even went on to state that despite awarding him the score, his routine wasn’t “perfect”. This left viewers at home scratching their heads as they felt a performance should only be awarded 10s when it’s perfect.
Many who watched at home headed over to X formerly known as Twitter to complain. One viewer said: “Not sure I agree with the scoring tonight” Another said: “So if a 10 doesn’t mean the performance was faultless then what’s the point.”
A third echoed: “Greg was definitely not a 10. I enjoyed it, but it was 9.5 tops, errors are not a 10.”
A fourth viewer said: “Obvious mistakes = 10 now apparently. I was just starting to warm to Johnny as well.”
While another TV watcher believed that the scores have been far too high during the entire series. They wrote: “I miss the good old days where the scoring would start with 3s and 4s and we’d watch the scores increase as the weeks went on, hoping to see some 9s and 10s for the final. Now they seem to jump straight in with 7s and 8s, and here they are dropping all these 10s.”
But Greg wasn’t the only contestant to receive high scores from the judges. Radio presenter and former Big Brother star Adele Roberts missed out on the perfect 40 by scorin an incredible 39.
Adele received two 10s from Chris and Jayne. She then receivd 9.5 from Oti and Johnny.
