Piers Morgan has taken another swipe at Prince Harry, but this time it’s over his recent legal troubles.
The 58-year-old TV host is known for his outspoken views on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The dad-of-three turned on the royal couple ever since they stepped back from their official duties and left the UK in 2020 for a quieter life in North America with their two children.
This week, Harry suffered a huge blow when he lost a long-standing High Court case against the British government regarding his personal security during his frequent UK visits. Harry started the case after the Home Office announced in February 2020 that they would no longer provide taxpayer-funded personal protection when he’s in the UK.

And on Thursday (February 29), the decision by the High Court was upheld. Despite losing, Harry has pledged to appeal the court’s ruling.
It’s fair to say Piers didn’t miss the opportunity to hit out at the 39-year-old over his defeat and criticise his alleged arrogance. In a scathing attack, Piers said: “It was always a simple question of common sense, for me.
“Should a non-working member of the royal family – who carries out no public duties, has no obligations to the British people, and no formal links whatsoever to the work of the monarchy – receive the same taxpayer-funded protections as the rest of his family who do all that?
“The answer – self-evidently – is no.”, reports The Mirror Online. In his YouTube show Piers Morgan Uncensored, he added: “But Prince Harry disagreed… He dragged the British government into court over its decision to downgrade his taxpayer-funded personal security detail for his increasingly rare visits to the UK.”
The GB News presenter didn’t hold back in criticising Prince Harry’s recent actions. Discussing his fall from grace, he stated: “Harry has lost his case.
“And regardless of what you may think about him personally, and I think I’ve made my views pretty clear, this is demonstrably the right decision. The artist formerly known as Prince Harry is, at this point, a kinda B-list, maybe C-list celebrity.
“He lives in California… He works on the personal causes he supports. He writes books and makes movies about how awful the royal family is … And in his most recent interview he made it perfectly clear that his focus is elsewhere.”
Piers also clarified that Prince Harry isn’t being denied personal security – but argued that it’s wrong for him to expect taxpayers to cover the cost. He pointed out that the Prince shouldn’t have security for these “occasional, time-permitting trips to his former homeland… The issue is whether you and I should have to pay for it on a full-time basis.”
He also defended himself against claims that he was unfairly targeting the Prince. He explained: “He’s the only senior member of the royal family who has quit the monarchy and the country… After four years of trashing his family, and trashing Britain, Harry is now finding out the hard way.
“You can’t have your royal cake and eat it. If you go, you go! And frankly, this is one less problem for a Royal Family that has more than enough on its plate.”
