EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Dean Wicks’ downfall after ‘sick’ and ‘evil’ twist

EastEnders fans think they have figured out Dean Wicks’ downfall after a “sick” twist on Friday.

Soap fans will recall that Dean recently reconnected with daughter, Jade, who has undergone a life-saving lung transplant surgery amid her cystic fibrosis battle. Earlier this week, Jade struggled with guilt as she tried to muster up the courage to tell her father that she was moving to Pakistan with her mother Shabnam.

Jade ended up finding solace in Jean Slater, and the two had a heart-to-heart about the youngster’s predicament. Together, Jade and Jean headed to Beales Eels, where Jade broke the news to her deflated dad that she was moving to Pakistan with Shabnam.

Jade explained: “Mum’s flown out to Pakistan because Nani Zainab’s not well… she’s moving out there and she wants me to go, too.” As expected, Dean reacted badly to the news and on Friday’s episode he met with his solicitor to see if he could stop her from leaving.

However, his solicitor delivered news Dean didn’t want to hear as she pointed out that if Jade’s health is stable there’s “no grounds” to keep her in Walford.

Later, Jade went to the doctor after she had been coughing recently, where she was prescribed antibiotics for a chest infection. Dean then sent Jade to bed to rest as he told her he would put her antibiotics in her pillbox with her other medicines.

However, when alone, Dean tampered with the antibiotics in a sinister bid to make Jade stay. Later, Jade took one of the antibiotics not realising it was empty as she told her dad: “I’m not going to travel until I’m 100%.”

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were left horrified over Dean’s “sick” plan. One person said: “I think Dean might be one of the most evil characters to have ever graced the streets of Albert Square # EastEnders “, another wrote: “Can Dean stoop any lower? #EastEnders”, a different person said: “Dean you sick man #Eastenders” while another added: “So when’s Dean gonna get his comeuppance? He’s literally risking Jade’s life #EastEnders.”

Elsewhere, some viewers were quick to come up with ideas for Dean’s downfall, The Mirror reported. One person said: “Bring Zainab and Shabnam back to Walford already!”, another wrote: “One could be Jean snooping on Dean in regards to Jade” while a different fan added: “We need a double death exit for Nish and Dean @bbceastenders #EastEnders.”

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
