Home and Away heartthrob in career U-turn as he trades soap for two unexpected jobs

A star from Home and Away and Neighbours has made an unexpected career change.

Andrew Morley catapulted to fame when he landed the role of Spencer Harrington on Home and Away in 2013. The 34-year-old left the soap in 2015 after two dramatic years in Summer Bay.

Just one year later, Andrew joined the cast of rival soap Neighbours as Jack Callahan. His time on Ramsay Street lasted for two years, however, Andrew reprised the role of Jack in 2020 for the soap’s 35th anniversary celebrations.

Once a beloved figure on Aussie TV, the actor has now embarked on an unexpected new venture. Andrew is now a pivotal player in the caravan storage industry.

Andrew starred as Spencer Harrington from 2013 to 2015

Through his business, Store My Van, the former soap star oversees the storage of over 2600 caravans across 11 sites in Victoria, providing undercover and outdoor storage for caravans, boats and trailers.

His unexpected leap into the world of caravans couldn’t be further away from his early career, but it has proven to be just as successful. Six of his 11 sites opened within the last four years.

Last year, Andrew was left devastated when his co-star and on-screen brother Johnny Ruffo passed away. The actor was just 35 when he died following a battle with brain cancer.

Andrew paid tribute to Johnny, who played Chris Harrington from 2013 until 2016, with a heartfelt post on Instagram. Alongside a snap of the two laughing on set, he wrote: “RIP Johnny. An absolute joy to be around everyday and your cheeky witty humour will live on forever. A brother on and off screen.”
