A horror film based on the disastrous Willy Wonka event that was held in Glasgow is reportedly in the works.
The movie is said to be inspired by the viral ‘Willy’s Chocolate Experience’ in the city that happened last month. The event, held in a Whiteinch industrial estate, promised “a day filled with laughter, joy, and the irresistible allure of chocolate”.
The Willy Wonka-themed do was sold online as an “immersive” and “chocolate fantasy like never before”, with dreamy, sweetie-coloured pictures on its website. But, it turned into a nightmare when guests turned up to find just one bouncy castle, a rainbow arch, and a few canteen tables in an empty warehouse.

The police were called after mums and dads asked for their £35 ticket money back. The flop quickly spread on the internet as angry guests started sharing their experiences on social media.
Some said it was “absolutely appalling” while others called it a “scam”, reports the Irish Mirror. One part of the experience that got a lot of attention online was a silver-faced character called The Unknown.
He was “an evil chocolate maker” who popped out from behind a mirror to scare the guests. The infamous villain was met with bafflement by fans around the world.
Now Kaledonia Pictures, a production company from Scotland, has decided to capitalise on the weirdness. They have disclosed their plans to use the mysterious character in an upcoming film, expected late in this year.
The production company said to Bloody Disgusting: “We are excited to begin production and look forward to sharing more with you as soon as possible. We are actually only a few miles from the event, so it is quite surreal to see Glasgow all over social media, worldwide.”
Kaledonia Pictures gave a sneak peek at the forthcoming horror movie titled The Unknown. They said: “The film, gearing up for production and a late 2024 release, follows a renowned illustrator and his wife who are haunted by the tragic death of their son, Charlie. In a desire to run away from their grief, they retreat to the secluded Scottish Highlands where an unimaginable evil lurks.”
The character of The Unknown was enacted by 16-year-old Felicia, a native of Glasgow. Speaking to BBC, she expressed delight that her debut acting job has struck a chord with people online. Laughing off the absurdity, the actress said: “It was so ridiculous it was actually funny.”
She added: “And now it’s become viral, it’s genuinely life-changing and I’m really happy I did it. Everybody loves the character and posting about it, so it makes me happy that people can see the funny side.”
