Kate Middleton ‘thoroughly depressed’ over uncle Gary Goldsmith’s CBB appearance

Kate Middleton is likely feeling “fragile” and “depressed” over her uncle Gary Goldsmith’s stint on Celebrity Big Brother.

According to a Royal expert it’s the “last thing she needs” at the moment. Despite the reality TV star instead claiming to be his niece’s “knight in shining armour”.

Gary’s appearance on the show and his comments about her heath on Wednesday’s episode (March 6) would have no doubt caused Kate more upset. Her uncle had also previously made it clear that he didn’t need the Princess of Wales’ permission to join the ITV show.

“I genuinely love them and respect what they do. I’m a royalist deep down.” Royal expert Jennie Bond agrees that Gary doesn’t mean any harm, but she warned the Mirror that his actions could still cause damage and leave Kate feeling “thoroughly depressed”. ”

Jennie told the publication: “Clearly whatever’s happened to Catherine, she’s probably feeling fragile – mentally as well. To have a serious setback like this at the prime of your life, it must knock your confidence and so she’ll be fragile at this stage in her recovery and to have this thrown at her.

She went on: “She must just be thinking, ‘Why, why, why did Uncle Gary have to do this? ‘ I imagine she’s thoroughly depressed about it.”

The Royal expert detailed that Gary is very much a free agent now after he’d been pushed further and further out of the “inner circle” over time. While Jennie is sure Gary only means well she is wary of the issues that could arise following his stint on the programme and wonders if it could affect Kate’s relationship with her mother Carole.

Meanwhile, Kate was at The London Clinic in Marylebone for nearly two weeks after having tummy surgery. She left on January 29.

Kensington Palace said she would stop all official work while she got better. She was seen for the first time since her operation on Monday (March 4) and was driving near her Adelaide Cottage with her mum, Carole Middleton.

While in the house, Gary talked about the rumours about Kate at the moment with a co-star. He said: “I think they should leave her alone right now because there’s a reason why they’re [family] not talking about it and they are giving her a little bit of space.”

He added: “I just think it’s fundamentally wrong and if it was happening to anybody else they would think to give them some space. But because Kate, she does such an amazing job, there’s always interest in her.”

Later on he shared details of a conversation he’d had with Kate’s mum Carole about her health, he added. “I spoke to her mum, she’s getting the best care in the world.” When asked if Kate would return, he confidently said: “She’s amazing, she will be back, of course she will.”
