Friends icon Matthew Perry never achieved tragic final wish before devastating death

Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend Kayti Edwards has shared some sad news about the Friends star before he passed away.

She told the Mirror that Matthew had a big wish – he wanted to have a family of his own. Kayti, who used to help Matthew out, talked about the last time they met up in Malibu.

It was at a place called the Vitamin Barn where they caught up for a long chat. “I ran into him at this little juice bar called the Vitamin Barn in Malibu, and we sat down and chatted for ages,” she remembered.

She didn’t even know it was him at first because he looked different after putting on weight. But she thought that was good because it often happens when you stop drinking alcohol.

“I actually didn’t really recognise him at first because he had gained a lot of weight, which was great as when you are sober, you gain a bunch of weight,” said Kayti.

Kayti was surprised to hear he was going to marry Molly Hurwitz but knew he always wanted a family. Sadly, Matthew never got to have kids or a wedding before he died.

“Having children was a big part of his dream. He felt like he was getting older, so it did not surprise me that he was getting married so quickly. He felt this clock was ticking,” she explained.

Kayti was worried about her friend’s health due to his change in appearance towards the end of his life. She expressed: “He’s normally very clean and well manicured. That’s how I knew him.”

She noticed his decline, stating: “He even had a full face wash routine. But then I started looking at pictures and it was clear that he had started declining, which I can guess was that he was probably battling, being sober and not being sober.” Kayti added: “He just didn’t care anymore, he just gave up.”

Despite his troubles, she remembers him as a good friend who supported her in her passion for horse rescue in Yucca Valley, California. She said fondly: “He was also a really good friend to me, and really supportive when I started this horse rescue,” adding, “He just loved the animals, and was just very supportive of my life and my journey.”
