Cash Newman is left with no choice on Home and Away after Rose Delaney drops a bombshell.
Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) has been living without a job over the past few months after being suspended from the force. His suspension came after he kept quiet about Dana (Ally Harris) taking refuge at Irene’s (Lynne McGranger) house.
Dana was set up on a drug charge by dodgy cop Detective Madden (Jonny Pasvolsky), who later kidnapped and tried to kill her. Despite arresting Madden and proving Dana’s innocence, Cash was suspended of all duties pending an investigation.

Last week, Cash was offered his job back – but with a demotion and restricted duties. Insulted by the offer, Cash officially quit the police force. During Monday’s episode (March 18) of Home and Away, Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) worried that Cash had given up his whole career on a whim.

Rose (Kirsty Marillier) was shocked after discovering her friend is no longer a cop and stormed straight over to his place for answers. Cash explained the reason behind his resignation, but Rose insisted he needs to be sure about the decision.
She pointed out that he can’t change anything or help anyone if he quits. Later, Cash turned to Eden and suggested he may have been a bit hasty giving up his job.

He recalled rising through the ranks of the police force once, meaning he could do it again. Later, Rose turned up at the house once again with some news.
Rose revealed she has been offered a promotion to Cash’s rank, and he realised Rose is effectively taking his job. A stoic cash simply responded: “Congratulations, you’ve earned it”.

Despite the news hitting him hard, Cash took Rose out for a drink to celebrate her promotion during Tuesday’s instalment (March 19) of the Channel 5 soap. Rose was clearly worried for Cash, but he insisted his career in the police force is over.
But Cash’s luck may already be turning around. Rose explained that a friend of hers has just moved into security and hands over the number. Eden later stumbles upon Cash looking into security jobs, and he seemed more than interested.
