Corrie’s Tina O’Brien returns to social media after being left ‘traumatised’ by brawl

Tina O’Brien has returned to social media for the first time since it was reported that she had been caught up in a street brawl.

Footage obtained by The Sun showed the Coronation Street actress involved in a scuffle near her home in Stockport, after she apparently tried to break up an altercation among some teenagers. Her spokesperson has said at the time that she was “the victim of an unprovoked incident” which has been reported to the police.

It has been reported that Tina was “traumatised” by what had happened and that she had been given some time off from the ITV soap, where she plays Sarah Platt.

But the star has now seemingly revealed that she is on the cobbles after all and that it’s business as usual, as she has shared a snap from Weatherfield.

The photo was posted on Tina’s Instagram Story and showed the Kabin and a section of the famous street with a blue sky in the background. “Sunny street,” the actress captioned the shot, along with a sunshine emoji.

The video obtained by The Sun emerged earlier this week and showed a street in Manchester at night, with a group of teenagers involved in a row. A woman said to be Tina, who was clad in a striped top and pink jogging bottoms, could be seen amid the scuffle and it looked as if her hair was pulled.

The publication later quoted a source as saying that Tina had spoken to her Corrie bosses and that they had been “very sympathetic”. The star has been a Weatherfield favourite since she first turned up on the cobbles in 1999. She stayed until 2008 before exiting then returned to the soap in 2015 and has been there ever since.

Off screen, the actress has a son with her husband Adam Crofts and she shares daughter Scarlett with her ex Ryan Thomas. Daily Star has contacted ITV and a representative for Tina for comment.
