The BBC are reportedly eyeing up Cat Deeley just weeks after she signed for rival broadcaster ITV.
Earlier this month Cat joined This Morning alongside Ben Shephard as the show’s full time presenters. The pair were finally drafted in as successors to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who both exited the programme last year.
Now, its claimed the Beeb want to her woo her into being a Saturday night star, especially with its lack of female presenters currently in primetime slots. Cat, 47, previously worked for the broadcaster as host of Fame Academy in 2002 with Patrick Kielty – who she went on to marry 10 years later.

“She is used to hosting a glitzy show in America and put with the right programme over here, she could be an absolute ratings winner,” a source told the outlet,” a source told Mail on Sunday.
They continued: “There is no love lost between the BBC and ITV for the stealing of stars, so what a great move it would be.” Daily Star has contacted the BBC for a comment.
Cat has found stardom in the US after becoming the host of So You Think You Can Dance? since 2006. But after signing up for This Morning, she may be tempted to leave the show and return to the UK full time. The two broadcasters’ recent battles have seen Graham Norton head to ITV to present Wheel of Fortune.
Zoe Ball and Alan Carr have also made the same move to be part of talent show Mamma Mia!, which sees contestants fighting for a role in ABBA’s musical. Moving in the opposite direction in recent times, meanwhile, Paddy McGuinness swapped Take Me Out for Top Gear, whilst Amanda Holden and Alison Hammond have been involved in I Can See Your Voice.
Stars are entitled to work for both BBC and ITV – provided no ‘golden handcuffs’ deal has been signed, restricting their freedom. Ant and Dec are an example of this, meaning they can only air on ITV.
Earlier this week Cat was branded “ageless” by This Morning’s Hollywood showbiz reporter Andrew Freund. It came after Ben introduced a clip of Andrew interviewing her whilst she was filming a show in in 2011. “Cat hasn’t aged in 13 years and I feel like I’m 12 years old there,” said Andrew afterwards. “So, Cat, I don’t know what you’re doing but I want some of it.”
