Davina McCall has fans begging for granny dating show after her ITV prank gets attention

Presenter Davina McCall had fans on board as she shared a new TV concept as part of an April Fool’s Day prank.

The 56-year-old headed over to Instagram to share a hilarious take on her hit TV dating show, My Mum Your Dad. Last year Davina presented the ITV programme which saw older singletons looking for love while their children secretly watched all their antics in a hidden room.

For April Fool’s day, Davina tricked fans by sharing a poster for a show called, My Gran Your Grandad. But although most fans knew it was a joke, many were keen on the idea being made into reality.

Sharing their thoughts in the comment section, Davina’s followers were loving the idea. One social media user said: “You are hilarious!!!!!! But, why not?”

Another penned: “Shame it’s not legit! They should also do a My Daughter Your Son for the younger ones. Let the parents decide!”

A third wrote: “You are selling this as an April Fools joke but… This would be good.”

A fourth echoed: “It’s April Fool’s Day people! Although a show like this would be kind of great though.”

While another fan said: “Oh no way I fell for this! This needs to happen, loved the first series and yay never too old for love.”

The first series of My Mum Your Dad saw three couples make it to the end after finding romance with one another. But unfortunately, not all couples have remained together.

Natalie, 44, and Paul, 47, left fans with high hopes when their relationship blossomed fairly quickly. But after the final aired last year, they released a joint statement to share they are no longer an item.

The statement read: “Firstly I just wanted to say thank you for the overwhelming support from everyone who has watched the show and how invested you have been with our journey. It was an incredible experience and one that we will be forever grateful for taking part in.

“Nat and I had an incredible experience in the retreat and loved every moment, we continued that connection over the summer and had some great times together. Unfortunately in early August, we decided to call a day on the relationship. We are both still friends and wish each other the best.

“Thank you for your continued support and we’re very thankful to @davinamccall @itv @mymumyourdaduk for all we gained from the experience.” Sharon and Elliot, who also made it to the final but are no longer together.

But Janey and Roger have remained together. They also have appeared on This Morning on several occasions.
