Stacey Solomon shares big adoption news as she tells Joe Swash ‘this will be us’

Stacey Solomon has opened up about her plans to adopt with hubby Joe Swash.

The TV favourite is a proud mama to five kids, three of whom – Rex, four, Rose, two, and one-year-old Belle – she shares with her hubby Joe. She also has two older boys, Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 10, from past relationships.

Ex-EastEnders star Joe also has a teenage son, Harry, with his ex. But it seems Stacey and Joe are keen to add to their clan, and are thinking about fostering.

On Tuesday (April 2) Stacey was back on screens for the final episode of her BBC show Sort Your Life Out. For the instalment, Stacey and her team met up with a couple, Shirley and Martin.

It was an emotional episode of the much-loved organisation show, and at one point Shirley spoke to Stacey about her plans to become a foster parent. Stacey then went and opened up to Shirley about her and husband Joe’s hopes to do the same.

Solomon said: “It’s such an incredible thing to do. Joe grew up in a home where his mum fostered and Joe’s always said when our kids grow up and move out, that’s what he wants to do, so I get it.”

Later on, Joe arrived to help out at the family’s home and asked Stacey: “Is this the family you were telling me about who want to foster?” She told him: “This’ll be us in 20 years if you get what you want,” as her hubby quipped: “It will be.”

Joe’s mum worked as a foster parent when he was growing up. Last year he fronted a BBC documentary called Joe Swash: Teens In Care for the BBC, which followed the dismal state of the British care system.

He said: “My mum Kiffy has been a foster carer for the last 15 years. I’ve seen the difference that she’s made to these young people’s lives.”

Joe also added how he and Stacey have discussed fostering in the future. He revealed: “It’s something that Stacey and I have talked about. It’s something we’ll always consider. When our kids get older and the last ones are at secondary school, maybe then we’ll try to foster ourselves.”
