Adrian Schiller has sadly passed away ‘suddenly’ at the age of 60.
His agent from Scott Marshall Partners, who had represented him for over 30 years, shared the heartbreaking news, saying “He has died far too soon, and we, his family and close friends are devastated by the loss. His death was sudden and unexpected and no further details around its cause are yet available.”
The talented actor, known for his roles in Death in Paradise and Doctor Who, had just returned from Sydney where he had been performing in The Lehman Trilogy and was excited about continuing the international tour in San Francisco.

Adrian was also recognised for his roles in historical dramas like The Musketeers on the BBC and The Devil’s Whore on Channel 4. Recently, he appeared as a criminal named Drake Underwood in an episode of BBC’s detective series Father Brown titled The Father, The Son, which centred around a botched heist. Schiller, also celebrated for his theatre work, was part of the cast in the Second World War play The White Factory at Marylebone Theatre last year.
His agent also said he “enjoyed a varied and successful career across all media”. “Our deepest condolences go to his family, who ask for privacy at this most difficult of times,” the statement also said, reports the Mirror. The actor made appearances in A Touch Of Frost, Raised By Wolves, Residue, The Hollow Crown, Doctor Who, New Tricks, Being Human, Silent Witness, Prime Suspect, Judge John Deed and My Family.
In 2021, Adrian played Pasha Verdinikov in two episodes of Death in Paradise. He became the face of the government’s anti-drink-driving campaign titled Moment of Doubt which aired on British TV. It was part of the Department for Transports Think!mRoad Safety campaign in 2007. In December 2008 the advert won Best Casting at the BTACA awards.
Tributes poured in for the star as one said: “Awful news that Adrian Schiller has died aged only 60. He played Uncle in The Doctor’s Wife for Doctor Who along with appearances in a couple of Who related podcast series. #rip #DoctorWho.”
Adrian played Uncle in the Doctor Who television story The Doctor’s Wife. He also voiced several characters for Big Finish Productions. He was born on February 21, 1964 in London. Adrian appeared in huge Hollywood films including Disney’s live action Beauty and The Beast in 2017, where he played Monsieur D’arque.
The actor starred as David Lloyd George in the 2015 film Suffragette, as well as Mr Taylor in Bright Star and the English Master in 2019’s Tolkein. His most recent acting role was in The New Look, a 2024 Apple TV series where Adrian played the character of Ambassador Hoare. This year, he also popped up in an episode of Father Brown as Drake Underwood.
