Hollyoaks’ Warren Fox’s exit ‘sealed’ as star teases villain’s downfall

Hollyoaks’ bad boy Warren Fox might be waving goodbye to the village soon…

Freddie Roscoe could be the one giving him the boot as the Channel 4 soap’s resident villain, played by Jamie Lomas, is set to make an exit, but the details of his departure are still under wraps.

The plot thickens as two familiar faces return to Hollyoaks with a score to settle with Warren. In an exclusive cchat with The Mirror, actor Charlie Clapham, who plays Freddie Roscoe, dished the dirt on his dramatic return after seven years and hinted at a major showdown.

When quizzed about whether Freddie could be the catalyst for Warren’s departure, Charlie didn’t hold back, saying: “Absolutely, I’d be disappointed if I wasn’t involved. I wanna take him down, why not. I think Freddie took out Fraser Black way, way back in the day. He’s got previous, I can’t see any reason why it couldn’t be him.”

Charlie added: “I think Freddie would revel in being a bit of a Kingpin. I think he would make a great villain because he’s got so many flaws. Freddie’s always liable to fall in love, to do the wrong thing and then try to do the right thing.”

“There’s always a complexity with him that I don’t think you get with a lot of characters. There’s always something else, there’s always another thing nobody knows about and that’s really fun as an actor. It’s great, you can have him do anything and just be like, ‘well yeah, it’s Freddie Roscoe’.”

Discussing hidden secrets within his character’s plot with Grace, the actor hinted: “Absolutely, there is always something more even when you think that’s the full picture, there is like another gallery around the corner. He’s awful and brilliant, and I love him.”

In talking of the intense scenes between Freddie and Grace, as actress Tamara Wall marks her return to the soap, he revealed: “It’s almost like it’s carried on, the unfinished business, and it’s been such a pleasure to work with Tam again.”

Reflecting on the depth of their characters’ history, he commented: “I think it’s great when you have two characters with so much history, the scripts could have done anything with that in-between period of time. How have these two kept in touch? How do they know each other in this version or era of Hollyoaks? It’s been electric.”

Hollyoaks continues to stream on Channel 4’s streaming service and airs weekdays on E4 at 7PM.
