An S Club star recalled a wild on-stage memory involving the late Paul Cattermole.
Paul was tragically found dead in his home aged 46 exactly one year ago today (April 6). The singer’s death was caused by multiple heart issues and occurred just weeks after he announced he would be joining S Club on their reunion tour.
Before the group reunited on stage, Bradley McIntosh shared fond moments of their first time on the road. He noted that the band always did things on a “really big scale” and remembered one of Paul’s biggest stunts.

“If you’ve seen some of the previous tours that we’ve done over the years, they’ve always been on a really big scale,” he told Metro.co.uk. “We had big walkways that came over the top of the fans we walked out to.”
The 42-year-old continued: “We had a Chevvy that was on stage with us one time that, I mean… literally there was no room for error because Paul was driving the car and it was this much space just to turn the car.
“Who brings a car on stage on tour, you know, but so we have to keep that bar, we have to keep it at gold standard!” S Club kicked off their reunion tour with an emotional tribute to Paul in October 2023.
Footage of the late singer performing Good Times was mixed with a montage of clips from his time in the pop group. With his voice breaking, Bradley told the crowd: “That’s our brother right there, man. Gone but you’ll never be forgotten. We miss you every single day.”
After Paul’s death, his band member and former girlfriend Hannah Spearritt dropped out of the tour, leaving Bradley, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee and Jo O’Meara on-stage as a five-piece.
A statement announcing Paul’s death said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole. Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
His death certificate lists the cause as cardiac arrhythmia, acute myocardial ischemia and severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque haemorrhage.
