A resurfaced clip has emerged of pop sensation Justin Bieber where he gets emotional about his desire to “protect” Billie Eilish from the dark side of fame.
The interview, where Bieber sheds tears discussing his bond with Eilish, has been making rounds on social media platforms. Originally, Bieber sat down for a candid chat with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, while promoting his latest album, Changes.
During the conversation, Zane enquired about Justin’s friendship with Billie Eilish, who grew up as a dedicated fan of the singer and went viral after their encounter at Coachella in 2019. When questioned if he felt a sense of obligation towards the rising star of the time, Justin admitted: “Yeah, I definitely feel protective of her.”

The much-loved singer candidly expressed the struggles he faced as a young artist in a fickle industry, where people would shower him with affection only to abandon him moments later, reports the Mirror. Fighting back tears, the 30-year-old superstar reassured: “I just kind of let her do her thing and if she ever needs me I’m going to be here for her.”
Touched by his own experiences, Bieber concluded: “I just want to protect her. I don’t want her to lose it. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through,” and emphasised, “I don’t wish that upon anybody.
“So yeah, if she ever needs me, I’m just a call away.” After being catapulted into fame at a tender age, Justin Bieber had to navigate the tumultuous waters of stardom.
His teenage years were marked by legal troubles including a DUI and vandalism charge. The pop star has also been candid about his struggles with depression and anxiety throughout his career.
The chat with Zane Lowe isn’t the only video featuring Justin that’s making waves online. A throwback clip of Justin alongside Diddy has resurfaced on social media. In the video, a 15-year-old Bieber and a 40-year-old Diddy face the camera as Diddy reveals their plans for the next couple of days.
“He’s having forty-eight hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose, but it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream,” he said in the video. The music mogul later added: “I don’t have legal guardianship of him [Bieber] but for the next forty-eight hours he’s with me and we’re gonna go full crazy.”
