TV’s Christine Lampard was absolutely over the moon as she shared the fab news that Lorraine Kelly is about to become a gran for the first time.
Telly doc Dr. Hillary Jones spilled the beans on Monday’s Lorraine, revealing Rosie Smith Lorraine’s daughter is preggers. Christine, who was filling in for Lorraine, couldn’t keep the grin off her face, saying: “She will be beside herself with excitement.”
She then sent out a massive congrats to Rosie, adding: “She will be on cloud nine.” Rosie, 29, gave her Insta fans a peek at her baby bump last Friday.

She looked all kinds of gorgeous in a snug black workout get-up and a chic cardi. Her hair was styled perfectly to one side, and her smile was as bright as a button, clearly chuffed to bits about becoming a mum.
She didn’t stop there, though. Rosie also posted an adorable snap of the baby’s first pic from the 12-week scan, complete with the cutest wee highland cow booties, reports OK!
The soon-to-be mum Rosie Smith couldn’t hide her elation as she shared a snap of the baby scan on her Instagram Stories, adding three red heart emojis to express her feelings. Lorraine, set to become a grandmother, was over the moon as she reposted the ultrasound image on her own Instagram, exclaiming: “THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve.”
She continued with heartfelt joy: “It’s the best news EVER! Posted @withregram. @rosiekellysmith We could not be more excited you’re already so loved little one.” Colleagues from ITV were quick to join in the celebration, with Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins commenting: “Oh my goodness what amazing news! So special”.
Lorraine’s regular guest Dr Amir Khan chimed in with: ‘OMG! What beautiful news! Congratulations xx’. And Ria Hebden added her well-wishes: “Congratulations Lorraine, wonderful blessings and you’ll be such a fabulous Grandma xx”.
Despite having a celebrity mother, Rosie has previously stated that it wasn’t Lorraine who inspired her career in media. In an interview with The Tab back in 2015, Rosie revealed: ‘”I don’t really see my mum as an inspiration. I mean, she’s not the reason why I’m studying journalism.”
She explained her family’s background in the industry: “My dad is a cameraman, that’s how my parents met actually, whilst my uncle is in advertising and grandad worked in the television industry too. So I guess it’s in the family.”
“I had no idea what I wanted to do at uni, but my family knew a lot about journalism and the media. I also see it as fun rather than work which is important.”
