Strictly’s Dianne Buswell has revealed that she and Joe Sugg are ‘struggling’ due to a key difference. The couple, who have been growing stronger in their relationship, have one minor detail that keeps them at odds.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional discussed her collaboration with Holland and Barrett to inspire the nation to live well by moving well. This led her to share some insights into her workout routine, which she occasionally shares with her partner despite her hectic work schedule.
However, as she shyly opened up about her personal life, the 34-year-old highlighted one detail that causes a slight disagreement between them. “We’re very different”, she said. “In fact, I love a morning workout. Joe loves an evening one. So we struggle in that sense. I could not think of anything worse at that time.”

The smitten pair met in 2018 when Joe – who is none other than YouTube sensation Zoella’s younger brother, showcased his dance skills on the Strictly dance floor with Dianne by his side. After finishing the competition as runners-up, behind Stacey Dooley and her partner Kevin Clifton, their undeniable chemistry made them inseparable – but they’re committed to shielding their enduring romance from the public eye.
Despite basking in limelight, the couple haven’t escaped the rumour mill. It’s well-known that Dianne often gets close with her Strictly comrades, especially EastEnders ‘ Bobby Brazier, with whom she has a strong friendship, reports the Mirror.
Meanwhile Joe had to clarify rumours about a proposal in February 2024.
Dianne touched on these whispers herself in a chat with The Mirror back in March 2023, insisting there’s no hurrying for them to tie the knot. She confessed: “We haven’t really spoken about it, so if it happens, great. If not, we’re happy with how things are going.”
Apart from wedding speculations, the duo have also had to contend with supposed relationship troubles. Again, Dianne rubbished this buzz, which emerged when she visited her family in Oz without Joe.
While talking to Closer Magazine, she said: “It makes me laugh that people think I wouldn’t go and see my family without Joe. It blows my mind.”
Nevertheless, while tying the knot isn’t on top of their agenda, Dianne has maintained that expanding their brood remains a possibility.
“I think definitely at one point we’ll have children”, she disclosed. “It’s something we’d both love, but we don’t know when just yet. We always say our kids are going to watch YouTube videos of us dancing one day, and that’s so cool!”
During a cosy chat with her followers, Dianne was clear-cut: “We love being aunt and uncle for our beautiful nieces and nephew for now, but yes one day we would love it.”
Last year, the dance pro Dianne and her beau Joe waved goodbye to their plush four-bed pad, which hit the market at a cool £1.35 million, and settled into an even swankier five-bed Brighton abode, snapping up the former digs of footie ace Lewis Dunk for a whopping £3.5 million.
Dianne gave fans a sneak peek into their new life, flaunting their sprawling 7,741 square foot mansion complete with five bathrooms, six reception areas, a grand double staircase, a chic open plan kitchen and lounge with views of a pristine garden, not to mention a lush swimming pool and a private gym.
