A former winner of The Apprentice has sparked concerns the BBC show could be coming to an end.
Marnie Swindells was named Lord Alan Sugar’s business partner last year and beating off stiff competition from her fellow candidates. After being crowned champion, she focused on investing the prize money into her passion and opened her own boxing gym, Bronx, in south London.
The TV series first aired back in 2005 and his run for eighteen series so far and Marnie has now called for an All-Star series to take place so the iconic show “goes out with a bang”.

Speaking to Sky Casino, Marnie said: “I think it [The Apprentice] might be getting a little bit flat. I think this series in particular feels like quite a carbon copy of the series before, even down to the electric vehicle task. It feels like it’s short of some ideas and I think, if it was to end at series 20, which there’s been talk of, it needs to go out with a bang.
“So I think do series 19, keep it similar and then maybe series 20 should be an All-Star version or maybe there should be more people on the panel alongside Karen Brady and Time Campbell. I think a shake-up would be warranted for that final one. Gotta go out with a bang.”
Fans will watch Phil ‘Pie Man’ Turner go head-to-head with gym owner Rachel Woolford during Thursday’s (April 18) grand finale in a bid to secure Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment. After weeks of tasks there can only be one winner and Marnie hopes both candidates don’t lose sight of the amazing opportunity.
She explained: “I would say that the final is the best bit. It’s everything it’s all built up to. It’s so momentous and just unforgettable. I hope both candidates don’t lose sight, with all the pressure and nervousness of it, how amazing of an opportunity is to be presenting and pitching to Lord Sugar and all those other people in such depth. It’s their time to shine.
“If I could tell them anything, I would say don’t forget the feeling of that moment because you will never ever, ever in your life be able to replicate it. So much adrenaline, so much excitement, so much to look forward to, whatever the outcome, you’ve gotten to that stage and you did it. Yeah, it’s just an incredible feeling. I’ll be watching it probably in a very comfortable position thinking ‘so glad that’s not me again, so glad I don’t have to have that stress again’.”
The Apprentice final airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
