The former Strictly Come Dancing champ has landed the part of Jenny, which was previously played by the likes of pop stars Cheryl and Lily Allen. She takes on the role as the supernatural hit returns to the Gielgud Theatre in London this summer.
“Delighted to be involved in the next adaptation of 2:22!” the documentary-maker said. “Made up! I fell for the play when I went to watch it in 2022.”

She went on: “All four characters feel so familiar, which means the subtle ‘ghost story’ just works so brilliantly. Can’t wait to bring Jenny back to life!”

Stacey, 37, will be sharing the stage with Inbetweeners star James Buckley, who is reprising the role of Ben after playing the character onstage in the production a couple of years back. He said he was “so excited”, adding: “It’s such a brilliant play and to be back in such a brilliant theatre.
“It will be great to be play Ben again and now all I need to do is make sure I remember the lines. Can’t wait to see everyone there.”
The spooky story follows married couple Sam and Jenny and their dinner guests Lauren and Ben. Jenny believes her and Sam’s house is haunted so they plan to wait up until 2.22am to see if anything appears.
Fans had been wondering who would be in the cast when the show teased a new run. After Stacey was confirmed, one said it was “brilliant casting”. “You will be FAB at this role!” they added.
“This will be fabulous!!” exclaimed someone else, as another person added: “You’ve got this!” Another fan posted: “Congratulations Stacey, you’ll be fabulous I’m sure xx.”
Stacey’s partner Kevin Clifton was among those to chime in, with the former Strictly dancer saying that he “could not be more excited for my girl’s West End debut”. He wrote on Instagram. “So unbelievably proud.
“She’s going to be amazing in @222aghoststory. A show that I love!!! Love u @sjdooley. Let’s all go and see her!”
