BBC Breakfast viewers slammed presenter Naga Munchetty over her “rude” behaviour on Saturday morning (April 27).
Naga and co-host Charlie Stayt were joined on the show by Green Party co-leader Adrian Ramsay ahead of next month’s local elections. The 49-year old questioned Adrian on his party’s targets, but appeared to interrupt him after he failed to give a straight answer.
There was then further confusion over figures quoted in the Guardian surrounding how many local councillors were standing for the Greens in May, as Adrian shut down the numbers as “incorrect”. Naga then accused Adrian of putting words into her mouth as they discussed the Labour Party’s scrapping a pledge to spend billions on a ‘green project’.

“As you say it’s very disappointing,” said Adrian. Naga responded defiantly: “I didn’t say that. I didn’t say that. I said its been scrapped – I didn’t say it was disappointing. I didn’t say that. I just wanted to know if you’d be willing to work with the Labour Party.”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) during the chat, one user cursed: “Naga is being so unnecessarily rude to @AdrianRamsay #BBCBreakfast.” Another asked: “Did Naga get out the wrong side of the bed today? She’s being quite rude on @BBCBreakfast. Not good.”
A third penned: “Naga inventing random numbers in an effort to be “tough” on the Green Party co-leader. Really weird tone and attitude from her here.”
And a fourth said: “Naga needs to learn the art of bringing out the best in people during an interview – there is a fine line between taking no nonsense and having an antagonistic effect. Too often the output of an interview is affected for viewers because of the latter #BBCBreakfast.”
Defending the host, however, one user commented: “Naga’s having none of it this morning!” And a second said: “Naga is on form today.”
Naga was branded “rude” during Friday’s edition too, meanwhile, albeit in much different circumstances. When Surrey University’s Professor Dr Ralph Munders, arrived on the show, with muffins, he hoped to earn the approval of the presenters. Alas, the reaction he received was anything but, as the food exited Naga’s mouth just as quick as it entered.
However, while some have hit back at the host’s attitude, in her defence, the muffins were filled with insects. And bizarrely, as Naga lunged for some water to wash the horrific taste away, a beaming Charlie opted for another bite, seemingly enjoying the insane sweet treat.
