Eminem ‘kills off Slim Shady’ after two decades as he shares announcement with fans

While his fans love ‘Slim Shady’, Eminem has finally decided that enough is enough, leaving his alter ego in the past, in favour of pursuing new musical ventures.

The famous artist appeared at the NFL Draft in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., on Thursday (April 25) evening, to formally announce his twelfth album, ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)’.

Utilising his powers of creativity, the American promoted the project with a true crime-themed video, depicting a trailer for a fake television show, Detroit Murder Files.

To the surprise of the viewers, even 50 Cent makes a cameo appearance, telling the camera: “He’s not a friend; he’s a psychopath.” Continuing to sell the story over clips of Eminem’s old music videos, the narrator said: “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise.” A man with a pixilated face and warped voice added: “Who killed Slim Shady?”

With the story intensifying, the narrator says: “Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.” The screen then pans over to a brutal and bloody crime scene with the words: “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). Summer 2024.”

The pixalated man, continues: “I knew it was just a matter of time for Slim.” Shockingly, he then reaches off-screen to grab something, which is eventually revealed to be Eminem himself.

Unsurprisingly, the concept sent fans into meltdown, with one writing: “This is it. The goat is back.” However, others are devastated that an era could be rapidly approaching its conclusion, with one person tweeting: “Is he saying goodbye to his iconic alter ego?”

The legendary Slim Shady first appeared on the scene in 1997 for Eminem’s Slim Shady EP. However, almost 30 years have passed since the alter ego made its mark, and it looks like the end is nigh.
