Peter Andre ‘loves’ unique Welsh name for baby girl as he struggles to name her

Peter Andre has admitted he “loves” a unique Welsh name for his baby girl.

The 51-year-old Mysterious Girl singer and his wife Emily, 34, are still trying to decide on a name for their daughter, who arrived earlier this month. The popstar admitted they’ve been affectionately calling her “bubba” as the six-week deadline approaches.

Peter has now confessed he’s handed the reins over to Emily as they have “less than four weeks before we have to register her”. But fans have been flooding the couple with suggestions for names nonetheless.

It seems a Welsh name could be in the running after the name Seren, which means ‘star’ in Welsh, caught Peter’s attention. Chatting with Wales Online, the star gushed: “I love that! “

He continued: “I would [choose a Welsh name] because someone else suggested Irish as well. There are similarities, maybe not completely, but even with Carys and Seren, there are a couple of Irish names that were mentioned to me that are similar to that. It’s giving me this thinking outside the box.”

Peter and Emily, who are also parents to Millie and Theo, admit it was tough choosing names for their children. Initially they named Millie ‘Rose’, only to change it six weeks post her birth as it “didn’t suit her”.

Peter also has two other children, Princess, 16, and Junior, 18, with ex-wife Katie Price, reports the Mirror. In a recent update, Peter revealed some possible names for his newborn to his followers.

He said: “Athena is also in the running. Not sure how ems feels about it but I LOVE it.” He also mentioned that “Charlotte is also in the running. I like Charlie.”

However, he later explained those names have now been ruled out. In his OK! Magazine column, Peter shared: “We don’t have long now until we need to register her, so the clock is ticking.

“I loved Olivia, Charlotte and Athena, but Emily didn’t get too excited about those, so they’re off the table. It’s a big decision! Someone on Instagram told us the best hack when trying out different names, and that’s to write it out in a card.

“So, pretend you’re writing a birthday or Christmas card to someone and sign it “from Peter, Emily, Junior, Princess, Millie, Theo…” and then add the new name at the end. I think that’s an amazing idea. Watch this space!”.

In response to a fan’s question about whether they had settled on a name, Peter admitted: “Still no name. Literally struggling. She doesn’t look like anyone [of] the names we have thought of.”

Peter told OK!: “We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them. So I think it’s only fair that Emily decides I hope she picks a good one.”
