Rylan Clark claims it ‘wasn’t me’ after police release lookalike ‘wanted’ picture

TV star Rylan Clark has denied he’s wanted by police after a “lookalike” e-fit was released.

Kent Police launched the probe after a woman reported that four men approached her outside Romney Place on April 5. They demanded she hand over her watch but, when she refused, chased after and assaulted her. Police said she suffered bruising to her face but the watch was not taken.

Quick to clear his name, Rylan quipped back: “Wasn’t me”. The presenter also shared the image and the police statement on X.

But his followers were having a field day. With one asking: “Are you sure?”

Another chimed in with a playful dig and said: “Looks like a mix between you and Simon Cowell”, while a third teased: “That’s exactly what he would say though”.

A fourth fan joined in the banter, saying: “Want to believe you, I really do. But without seeing the teeth how can we REALLY be sure? “.

The news comes as Rylan is set to wow audiences once again as he takes on hosting duties for the BBC’s coverage of the Eurovision final. The much-loved Irish presenter Graham Norton will provide commentary for the spectacle on BBC One and iPlayer, while Rylan teams up with Scott Mills to bring the excitement to listeners on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

The musical extravaganza is scheduled to light up the Malmo Arena in Sweden on May 11. Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander is set to fly the flag for the UK in the upcoming international song contest with his dance-pop hit, Dizzy.

The 68th edition of the renowned competition will be hosted by Sweden. This is following on from their victory last year when Loreen clinched the title in Liverpool with her chart-topping single, Tattoo.
